Punch Tavern Provides a Better Entertainment Experience with ZeeVee
With its late 19th century style, Punch is one of the largest leased pub and bar operators in the United Kingdom. As a means to enhance their customer experience, Punch is undergoing a major refurbishment to its pubs across the UK, targeting 250 per year. Punch sought to enhance their customer experience by adding a network of screens and projectors to show video from Sky Sports, FreeView channels, as well as camera, feeds from local games showcasing in-house Darts and Pool tournaments.
To ensure local expertise, Punch commissioned integrator TVC, one of the largest providers of audiovisual solutions in the UK, to deliver a ‘wow’ factor at their pubs. TVC wanted to use the highest quality audiovisual equipment for a mix of pristine, digital SD and HD signals to all new HD screens and projectors at selected Punch pub locations.
At first, TVC began installing an AV solution using HdbaseT switches, however, the installation proved problematic, time-consuming and expensive. After seeing ZeeVee products featured at an event, TVC, began testing and could immediately see the difference in ZeeVee products compared to other encoder/modulators on the market. With the understanding and confidence that ZeeVee has control over the engineering process – from design to manufacturing – and the ability to see first hand how easy the Web-based management platform, Maestro, was to use, TVC selected the HDbridge2312 and HDbridge2840 video encoders for the retrofit.
