Version 2.0 of the ZyPer Management Platform is a major release with significant changes to the operating environment. Please review the ZyPer Management Platform Release Notes document before proceeding with the update.

Supported platforms:

  • Management Platform on Ubuntu NUC, Ubuntu VM, Ubuntu ProServer.
  • All current ZyPer4K encoders and decoders.
  • ZyPerUHD encoders and decoders.
  • ZyPerHD encoders and decoders.
  • Google Chrome version 66.0.3359 or higher.
  • Mobile Devices: Android tablet 7.0, MS Surface Windows 10, iPad IOS 10.3.2 and higher.

Summary Notes:

  • GUI Enhancements:
    • Name Change: MaestroZ is now ZyPer Management Platform Graphical User Interface (or ZMP GUI for short).
    • ZMP GUI Device Grid panel: tabular view of all devices.
    • ZMP GUI Updated Zone Panel configuration.
    • Long Name Support for Devices, Walls, Multiviews, Zones and EDID names.
  • API Enhancements:
    • Save and Restore MP Database information and configuration.
    • API support for direct management of zones.
    • Enhanced device status output under the API, including full HDMI active status as well as detailed EDID parameters.
  • EDID Enhancements:
    • Extensive set of built-in EDID files for ZyPer4K and ZyPerUHD. Support for all common resolutions, SDR, HDR-10 with BT2020, and from PCM-only to HBR audio. In total, 46 available EDIDs.
  • Audio Enhancements:
    • ZyPer4K and ZyPerUHD compressed audio support for fast switched connections.
    • ZyPerUHD audio connection control added to the ZMP GUI.
  • Multiview Fast Transitions and Video Wall Enhancements:
    • ZyPer4K Multiview Fast Transitions.
    • Video Wall Max Decoder support increased to 9X9.
  • RS232 and IR enhancements:
    • ZyPerUHD independent RS232 and IR connections (requires ZyPerUHD Firmware version 0.10.x or later).
    • ZyPer4K and ZyPerUHD Device Data Relay Support for RS232 and IR commands: effectively direct communication to each device over TCP.
    • ZMP GUI RS232 command Relay.
  • The ZyPerMP update file is available in three, platform-specific versions. Please use the correct version for the hardware platform being updated.
    • ZyPerMP NUC computer: update_nuc_2.0.xxxxx.zyper
    • ZyPerMP Proserver: update_proserver_2.0.xxxxx.zyper
    • ZyPerMP VMware: update_vm_2.0.xxxxx.zyper

IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE UPDATING:

  • For any ZyPerMP running version 1.3 or 1.4, please upgrade to version 1.6 prior to updating to 1.8.
  • Downgrading from any version of 1.7.x to either 1.5.2 and 1.6, MaestroZ will not be able to add zones.
  • Installing software older than 1.7.4 on the New Intel NUC hardware is not recommended. Please see section “8. Upgrading and downgrading” of the accompanying Release Notes for more information.
  • Once the restricted shell access is implemented, it is permanently in place. Downgrading will not undo the shell lockout.

Version 1.8 of the ZyPer Management Platform is a major release with significant changes to the operating environment. Please review the ZyPer Management Platform Release Notes document before proceeding with the update.

Release Notes:

  • New support for analog expansion board on ZyPer4K HDMI 2.0 Encoders.
  • Introduction of ZyPerUHD device support.
  • New images of the ZyPer MP for virtualized host deployment.
  • New mobile device support for MaestroZ.
    • This feature allows customer to access basic management and status functions across ZyPer4K, UHD, and HD environments.

    ZeeVee does not recommend downgrading ZyPer MP software, but if it is necessary to do so, please review the notes below. Contact ZeeVee support for assistance in addressing these issues.

    • Downgrading from 1.6 to 1.5.2 may prevent device details and join configuration from being accessed within MaestroZ.
    • Downgrading from 1.6 or 1.5.2 to 1.4 or 1.3 will result in server instability.
    • Downgrading to a version prior to 1.3 is not supported.

Release Notes:

  • Added support for additional 4K60Hz input formats, output for these formats will be limited to 8-bit RGB
    • Added formats include:
    • 4K60Hz 8-bit 4:2:0
    • 4K60Hz 10-bit 4:2:0 (HDR)
    • 4K60 10-bit 4:2:2
  • Converts YUV 4:2:2 and YUV 4:2:0 source signals to RGB to make these sources available for all processing modes.

Release Notes: Release 1.4 is a major update for the Zyper Management Platform. MaestroZ has added a logging panel to replace previous popup confirmation messages and pagination to support larger deployments. ZyPer4K and ZyPerHD encoder and decoder firmware can now be updated through the API.

  • All current Zyper4k encoders and decoders (FW 2.8.6, 2.9.6, 2.10.5)
  • Firefox version 38 or higher
  • Google Chrome version 40 or higher

Release Notes: Release 1.3 is a major update for the Zyper Management Platform. Zyper Management Platform now supports ZyperHD encoders and decoders. MaestroZ has the added ability to switch all audio, video, and data options that are available on ZyperHD units.

  • All current Zyper4k encoders and decoders (FW 2.8.6, 2.9.6, 2.10.5)
  • Firefox version 38 or higher
  • Google Chrome version 40 or higher

Release Notes: Release 1.2 is a major release for the ZyPer Management Platform. This release supports ZyPer4k firmware 2.10.5. MaestroZ offers a better user experience with addtional configuration elements. The new MaestroZ interface has the ability to switch all audio, video, and data options that previously could only be done through the CLI or AJAX interfaces.

Installing the new server software:

If updating from version 1.5.2 or greater, follow this process.

1. Use the link provide by ZeeVee support to download the latest software. Make note of the location where the software was downloaded.

2. In MaestroZ, enable the Server panel from the Panel Selection menu.

3. Drag the ZyPer update file and drop it in the box that reads “drop file here“.

4. The ZyPer update file name will appear below the words “Selected file“.

5. Click the “Update Server“ button.

6. A confirmation box will appear. Click “Update“ to proceed and “Cancel“ to abandon the update.

7. Once Update is selected, the confirmation box will disappear, and the ZyPer Management Platform will reboot.

8. It may be required to close the browser and log back in for any new features to appear.

If updating from version 1.0 - 1.4, follow this process.

1. Download the latest software from the ZeeVee website. Make note of the location of where the software was downloaded.

2. Open Windows Explorer and enter the IP address of the Management Platform using FTP.

3. The files folder will be displayed.

4. Drag and drop the software file into the /files folder.

5. Use the Telnet protocol to access the Management Platform API.

6. Use the “update” command to update the Management Platform and Maestro Z. Once entered the Management Platform will reboot and the software will be update. Note that the connection will be lost temporarily during the update process.
