Another Year Rushing to a Close and Together, We’re Stronger Than Ever

By Bob Michaels, CEO, ZeeVee

Last year at this time, I wrote that we were confident that the pro AV world was bouncing back from the pandemic. We saw businesses regaining their footing and long delayed projects coming to life, while we looked forward to once again, meeting up with colleagues at trade shows and other industry events. We’re very happy to see that our holiday wish and forecast came true!

Since late 2021, the sustained uptick in activity and sales confirmed things were turning around. The momentum has carried over throughout 2022, as evidenced not only by orders, but the crowds we saw at ISE and the InfoComm shows here in North America, India and Thailand. It was great to reconnect with so many industry friends and see first-hand that things were normalizing.

In our preparation for the post-COVID world, we ramped up production, and stockpiled our best-selling ZyPer4K and ZyPerUHD encoders and decoders. It was a prescient move that allowed us to keep up with a strong surge of orders and deliver product in mere weeks – an eyebrow raiser for many integrators who have struggled with other suppliers. This readiness has not only coaxed huge sighs of relief from our regular customers, but it expanded our sales base as integrators, finding themselves over a barrel waiting for products from our competitors, reached out to us to meet their needs.

We’re very gratified by the fact that many of these first-time customers have now specified ZeeVee into additional projects. The increased use of LED walls, which requires an uncompressed 4K video distribution solution to ensure perfect resolution with no video artifacts, is one of the key business drivers.

As we expanded our international business, we opened our European headquarters in Augsburg, Germany, and added sales and engineering staff to extend our footprint and better support our fast-growing customer base in the region.

During 2022, we also joined and became very active in the PSNI Global Alliance, the world’s most recognized network of AV integrators, manufacturers, distributors and service partners. In addition to being named a Global Preferred Vendor Partner, we presented at the organization’s Marketing Summit in August and participated in its Design Summit in July. We are very confident we’ll enjoy many mutually beneficial opportunities with a new universe of partners through our association with this solid organization.

I’m very proud of our employees, and all of our valued partners, for the resilience you have all shown in forging ahead after a prolonged period of uncertainty. Our hard work, and collective teamwork, is paying off. I’m confident, and hopeful, it will continue throughout 2023 and beyond.

Speaking of 2023, we are eager to roll out new products that will further advance the possibilities of network-based AV signal distribution in virtually all applications and markets. You will want to stay tuned for important announcements from us in Q1.

Wishing all of you happy holidays and best wishes for the new year.

Regards,

Bob Michaels
