ISE 2023: Taking the Leap to Barcelona

By Bob Michaels, CEO, ZeeVee

Last month we returned from a very positive and robust ISE 2023 with a gathering of approximately 58,000 industry colleagues. In anticipation of the show’s comeback, and spurred by our ever increasing customer base in Europe, we anticipated a need to double our previous booth space-and we are glad we had the extra room!

The show did not disappoint. We attribute the heavy booth traffic, in part, to the interest we recently generated with the opening our European office and warehouse in Germany in late 2021 (with the ability to ship products on a very timely basis). In addition, the introduction of our latest products, including ZyPerUHD60 encoders and decoders and ZyPer4K SDVoE wall plates, and the sheer number of high profile ZeeVee installations over the past year were instrumental in driving existing and potential customers to meet with us.

While we were very pleased with the attendance, the broad scope of attendees was a testament to the global nature of our market. Whereas last year’s event was attended primarily by those from continental Europe, this year’s show attracted pro AV and IT audiences from the Far East, including China and India, as well as Australia, Central Europe, Africa, the UK and the U.S. – a total of 155 countries according to the show organizer.

The importance of our ZyPerUHD60 platform for smaller AV system installations was widely recognized by booth visitors. While ZeeVee's partners have been using our technology to address corporate conferencing applications of all sizes, our solutions were typically deployed in larger, project-based applications. The ZyPerUHD60 provides a feature set that makes it easier to weave us into their Zoom and Microsoft Teams rooms as they continue to transition to remote and hybrid work models. The first showing of our new HDMI extender, a simple but critical component that is part of most AV system designs, was also well-received by visiting integrators.

Our Q-SYS plug-in and official designation as a Q-SYS Technology Partner drew great interest from a number of partners and prospects as well.

Our strategy of choosing a booth location next to the SDVoE Alliance, an organization we co-founded and remain intricately involved with, led to additional visits from attendees who wanted to delve into our knowledge base, capabilities and practical experience with the technology. Throughout the show, we were able to demonstrate that ZeeVee is the most advanced, deployed and experienced manufacturer of SDVoE products.

On top of this, traffic at our booth was boosted by our recent partnership with PSNI Global Alliance, from which we saw many Pro AV and Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) professionals from the organization’s vast network.

I am convinced that the strong turnout at ISE proves that people are out there and willing to get back into real life. If you want to stay ahead, or even just keep up, you have to get back out there. While individual meetings with colleagues are worthwhile, there is no substitute for participating in an event such as ISE  to see and feel firsthand what the broad-based industry has to offer and learn which trends impact our businesses now and into the future.

We’re glad we took the leap along with many of you. Thanks to all that joined us in Barcelona. For those of you who didn’t make it, we hope to see you at Infocomm in June!

Regards,
