David Corker, Technical Sales Director, Strive AV

Strive AV, headquartered in East Grinstead, England just 27 miles south of London, is one of the country’s most dedicated and passionate AV equipment and systems integrators. From initial design consultation to deployment to managed services, it is a trusted technology partner enabling people and businesses to work more efficiently together.

The company is comprised of industry specialists, including David Corker, technical sales director, who are committed to their own professional development and who enjoy first-hand experience of end-user environments

Corker worked with ZeeVee to fit-out Canterbury Christ Church University in Canterbury, Kent for their new £65 million new build named Verena Holmes In total, 58 ZyPerUHD encoders and 146 ZyPerUHD decoders were used to enable cross-room presentation abilities to all of the school’s spaces.

“We selected ZeeVee for this project because its solutions enabled us to provide audio, video and specifically, USB data transfer via encoders and decoders. This was the standout feature that put the ZyPerUHD products over and above the competition,” said Corker.

During the installation, Corker found that navigating the network topology, including the arrangement of the elements of the communication network, was the most challenging aspect of the project. Unbeknownst to him and the client, the building infrastructure had changed, which created a hostile deployment environment. ZeeVee’s customer support team worked hand-in-hand with Corker and the university to find a solution.

“At Strive AV, we believe in providing our clients with best-of-breed solutions based on project requirements,” said Corker. “ZeeVee’s products are perfectly aligned with the higher ed market and gives us the confidence to deploy large solutions at the right price point.”

Corker believe the adoption of SDVoE/AVoIP signal distribution solutions are becoming more prominent amongst his customer base.

“AVoIP is now a compelling go-to technology within the industry and is no longer seen as expensive,” said Corker. “It has enabled many of our clients to integrate AV and IT platforms so that they can transfer audio and video over local area networks quickly and securely.”

In the coming years, Corker expects to see more higher ed facilities updating their AV systems to incorporate AVoIP solutions. In these facilities, he says, networks are now where they need to be and can easily adopt AVoIP without any fundamental topology changes.
