Firmware update details?
Was there some major changes made to the firmware for the box? I noticed that the firmware also updated when the Zviewer beta update installed recently.
Since then I've noticed that it appears that the picture that comes through to the tv's is clearer - a bit better definition, but it doesn't appear that the signal has been bumped up beyond the 720p yet.
Better video processing/encoding added in the firmware update? Or is this just my imagination?
And while we're on the subject, any guesstimate as to when the 1080i update is coming? And will this be a firmware update or only available in the units sold from that point on (hardware update)?

Yes the encoder was improved in the recent release (1.2). In a nutshell, we improved the throughput of the box slightly so we had more time to do processing.
The current ZvBox hardware is capable of transmitting 1080i and the next release will take advantage of it. The overall experience may still be better at 720p for a while we tune the VGA capture side.

It wasn't a real noticeable change on my 23" TV in the bedroom, but it made a big difference on the 52" in the living room. I noticed the change almost immediately on that one after the update.
